What happens during a Role-Playing Game?
You’ll follow the story of different races of woodland creatures as they discover the various forces of dark magic that threaten their idyllic home - Humblewood. As the forest fires rage in the west, your characters must come to terms with threats of bandits, mages, and elemental monsters to once more bring harmony to the woodland.
Each week the story will progress, every three to four weeks we will finish a chapter of the story. At the end of each session, detailed and anonymised language feedback will be provided allowing you to reflect upon your mistakes and have targeted speaking-goals, speaking drills to practice at home, and a comprehensive understanding of your language level, ready for speaking even better at the following session!

Meet Jon, the teacher
"Hello, my name’s Jon. I grew up in a little town in the middle of England, went to university in London and have a MA in Philosophy and in Art History. I’ve been an English teacher in France for the last 8 years, teaching people of all ages. I’ve also long had an interest in games and game-based learning. With my strategy for learning there is no need for endless grammar sheets and learning irregular verbs by heart, just learning through participation and storytelling.
If you’re interested in learning to speak English, whilst having fun and helping to tell an interesting story, I would love to see you at our table-top role-playing English evenings."
